A strategic setting at the foot of the slopes
Located at the base of Deer Valley Resort, minutes from Deer Valley East Village and roughly 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Canopy Deer Valley is among the first hotels to open as part of the Deer Valley East Village development. The property offers direct access to the Jordanelle Express Gondola, welcoming public spaces, and four original dining concepts designed to serve hotel guests and local residents alike.

Andrew Carey, General Manager of Canopy Deer Valley, said the opening of Canopy Deer Valley marks a new chapter for the hotel, and for Deer Valley East Village as it continues to welcome visitors from around the world. He noted that the aim throughout the room design, the locally inspired dining offer and the partnerships with local artisans and businesses was to create a place that reflects the character and energy of this highly anticipated destination.
A design rooted in Park City’s mining heritage
The interiors, designed by DLR Group | Brayton Hughes, offer a contemporary interpretation of the traditional mountain chalet, drawing on Park City’s mining history and the natural character of Deer Valley. Industrial materials, warm wood finishes and layered textures nod to the region’s heritage while creating residential-style spaces. The building’s exterior combines local stone with thermally modified wood.
The 180 rooms and suites feature natural materials and custom furnishings: the signature Canopy headboards are inspired by outdoor sporting equipment, while the carpets echo the pattern of ski tracks in fresh snow. Large windows offer views over Deer Valley Resort and the Jordanelle Reservoir.

Four dining concepts and a strong local footprint
The culinary programme is led by Executive Chef Scott Rackliff, who previously worked at Daniel Humm’s Eleven Madison Park and Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group in New York. His cooking for Canopy Deer Valley focuses on elevated comfort dining that draws, wherever possible, on regional producers.
The property brings together four venues: Tavolona, an Italian trattoria serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; Fornetto, an Italian club-inspired lounge offering antipasti, pizzas and cocktails; Mountain Provisions, a neighbourhood café reimagined as a mountain general store, featuring coffee from local roaster Park City Coffee Roasters; and Alpine Attic, a rooftop venue inspired by the American West and the European Alps, showcasing local distilleries High West Distillery and Alpine Distilling.

Alexandra Coleman, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Canopy Hotels, said that as a growing global brand, Canopy continues to bring its elevated hospitality to new markets. She noted that this opening marks the brand’s debut in Utah and in ski destinations, and continues its expansion into the world’s leading destinations.
Canopy Deer Valley is part of Hilton Honors, the loyalty programme spanning the group’s 28 brands. Members who book directly through Hilton’s preferred channels enjoy immediate benefits, including a mixed points-and-cash payment option, an exclusive discount and free standard Wi-Fi, as well as contactless access via the Hilton Honors mobile app, including check-in, room selection and Digital Key.
