Pan Pacific Hotels Group announces the appointment of Edward Kollmer, General Manager of the PARKROYAL Penang Resort, as Cluster General Manager, Resort Hotels, Malaysia. This promotion, effective since 1 July 2026, expands his oversight to the Gurney Bay Hotel (A PARKROYAL Partner Hotel), the PARKROYAL Langkawi and the PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka Resort, while retaining leadership of the PARKROYAL Penang Resort.
Edward Kollmer brings more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and has worked with Pan Pacific Hotels Group for seven years. During his tenure leading the PARKROYAL Penang Resort, he oversaw a full renovation of the 312-room property, relaunched its commercial activity both domestically and internationally, and raised the hotel’s RevPAR Generation Index from 0.80 to 1.10. Under his leadership, the hotel also earned the Malaysian Tourism 5-star rating for three consecutive years.
In his new role, he will work closely with the leadership teams across the portfolio to strengthen cooperation, share operational expertise and support the growth of the group’s Malaysian properties. The cluster model allows for shared resources, greater operational fluidity and consistency of brand standards, from Batu Ferringhi beach in Penang to the Straits of Malacca.
Before joining Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Edward Kollmer held several General Manager positions within the Shangri-La group, notably at the Hotel Jen Manila, as well as with glh. Hotels and IHG in the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management and holds an MSc in International Hotel Management from the University of Buckingham.
