The Social Hub, the Amsterdam-based hybrid hotel group, has announced the appointment of Megan Kennedy as Chief Operating Officer. Her appointment, effective from 1 September, comes at a pivotal moment for the brand, which is preparing to roll out its membership programme across Europe alongside new technology investments.
An appointment ahead of the membership programme launch
Megan Kennedy joins The Social Hub from The Conduit, the London-based members’ club and global impact community, where she held the role of Global Chief Operating Officer. She has also overseen large-scale operations across the Americas for hospitality brand Selina.
Her appointment coincides with a phase of development the group regards as decisive, marked by the expected launch of its Europe-wide membership offering this autumn, alongside ongoing investment in technology, artificial intelligence, guest experience and operational innovation.
More than twenty years’ experience in hospitality and lifestyle
The incoming Chief Operating Officer brings more than twenty years of international experience across the hospitality and lifestyle sectors. Her career has been marked by the running of complex multi-site operations, with a consistent focus on teams, company culture and guest experience.
Megan Kennedy notes that her arrival comes at an important point in The Social Hub’s journey, as the group prepares to roll out its membership offering. She says she intends to spend her first weeks meeting the teams to understand what makes the brand distinctive, while strengthening the operational foundations needed for the group to continue growing without losing its identity.
A strengthened leadership team around Eyal Amzallag
Megan Kennedy joins an expanded operational team under the leadership of Eyal Amzallag, recently appointed Chief Operating & Commercial Officer of the group. She will be responsible for driving operational excellence across The Social Hub’s entire European portfolio, supporting the evolution of the group’s hybrid hospitality model, which brings together premium hotel rooms, student accommodation, coworking spaces, food and beverage, events and community spaces under one roof.

Eyal Amzallag describes Megan Kennedy as a rare leader, able to combine operational excellence with genuine care for teams. According to him, her experience matches precisely what the group needs at this stage of its European development, with the aim of preserving the brand’s identity while supporting its growth.
A hybrid model expanding across Europe

Founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Charlie MacGregor, The Social Hub has reshaped the concept of the hotel by integrating coworking, student accommodation and community programming. The group, a certified B Corporation headquartered in Amsterdam, now reports more than 10,000 rooms across 21 hubs in Europe’s most dynamic cities, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Florence, Madrid, Paris, Rome and Vienna.
This growth is underpinned by a structured social impact programme, driven in particular by the TSH Talent Foundation and supported by a commitment to donate 1% of the group’s annual revenue. The Social Hub also runs more than 6,000 community events each year across Europe. Two new hubs are currently in development in Lisbon and Turin, while a project is under consideration in Edinburgh.
A Barcelona-based role
Megan Kennedy will be based in Barcelona and will work across the group’s entire European portfolio, with regular travel to the Amsterdam headquarters. Her immediate priorities will focus on integrating the new membership offering, strengthening operational execution, and aligning future technology and artificial intelligence developments with the experience delivered to both guests and employees.
