Constellation Hotels Holding Limited has announced the appointment of Neil Jacobs as Chief Executive Officer of its new luxury hotel management company. The new structure is intended to create an entirely new global brand to oversee a portfolio of hotels, resorts and residences currently in development.
A London foundation for a new international brand
The new entity will be built on an existing portfolio of three landmark London addresses, The Connaught, The Emory and The Berkeley, alongside a forthcoming hotel in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, a development in Marrakech and the English country estate of Hackwood Park. Each property will retain its own name and identity within the collection, which is due to be unveiled later this year.
The new management company will progressively take on operation of the London portfolio as current management agreements come to an end. Constellation Hotels has stated that this transition will be carefully managed in order to preserve the properties’ level of service. The group remains the owner and long-term custodian of the assets, retaining responsibility for investment and portfolio strategy.
Governance reshaped following the Maybourne split
This appointment follows directly on from the split agreed this summer between Regis Maybourne and Constellation Hotels, which ended joint ownership of the London hotel group. Since that agreement, Constellation Hotels has retained The Connaught, The Emory and The Berkeley, while Regis Maybourne has taken sole control of Claridge’s, the Maybourne Riviera and the Maybourne Beverly Hills. Operational management of both portfolios continues to be handled by Maybourne for the time being, for a period agreed between the parties.

By establishing its own hotel management company, Constellation Hotels takes a further step in this reorganisation, moving from co-owner to potential operator of its own assets. Neil Jacobs will work alongside Gianluca Muzzi, Chief Executive Officer of Constellation Hotels, who himself took over leadership of the group after stepping down as co-CEO of Maybourne.
A leader shaped by Six Senses, Four Seasons and Starwood Capital
Neil Jacobs led Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, growing the brand from eight to twenty-seven properties while building a pipeline of more than thirty additional projects. He also oversaw several brand openings during this period, helping to position Six Senses as a global benchmark for wellness and experiential travel.
Before Six Senses, he held senior roles at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and within Starwood Capital Group, working at the intersection of luxury, design and lifestyle concepts. He is also the founder of the creative consultancy collective Wild Origins. More recently, his career had brought him closer to the Qatari investment ecosystem in the sector, having joined Cain International as a strategic consultant to support the development of its luxury investment platform.
Neil Jacobs’ vision for the future collection
Neil Jacobs said that the group finds itself in a rare position, that of building a new international collection on foundations as strong as The Connaught, The Berkeley and The Emory, each with a distinct identity and a loyal clientele. He said this foundation offers the freedom to rethink what exceptional hospitality environments can be, going beyond rooms and service, by drawing on places whose energy is felt from the moment of arrival.
He also spoke of the growing convergence between hospitality and residential communities, which he sees as an opportunity to offer a richer, more connected way of living in these places. He said these distinctive foundations would make it possible to build a forward-looking global collection defined by quality, warmth and a genuine sense of joy.
A strategic boost for Constellation Hotels
Gianluca Muzzi highlighted Constellation Hotels’ ambition to be a thoughtful, long-term custodian of its exceptional hotel portfolio. He described the creation of this management company as an important step in that strategy, giving the group the ability to invest both in the properties themselves and in the brand, teams and operating platform that will support their long-term success.
He also praised Neil Jacobs’ keen sense for anticipating industry shifts, honed over a career spent defining globally significant luxury hospitality propositions. For Muzzi, Jacobs’ experience, imagination and deep understanding of today’s luxury traveller make him particularly well suited to honour this legacy and write its next chapter.
