Odyssey Hotel Group has announced a new operating mandate for the Mövenpick Hotel Münster, a 224-room property in north-western Germany. It is the first Mövenpick-branded hotel to join the group’s portfolio, although OHG already works with Accor, the brand’s parent company, on other assets.
A fourth German mandate signed within a month
The deal follows directly on from the signing, in early August 2026, of four hotel management agreements with Covivio covering an additional 1,200 rooms in Germany. With the addition of the Mövenpick Münster, Odyssey Hotel Group’s portfolio now exceeds 5,600 rooms across 30 hotels in six European countries, of which 19 properties are in Germany alone.
This pace of signings reflects the group’s sustained growth strategy, which is targeting a portfolio of 55 hotels and more than 7,000 rooms by 2028. Odyssey Hotel Group continues to roll out its pan-European third-party management and operating platform on behalf of institutional owners.
A strategically positioned asset in Münster
The Mövenpick Hotel Münster is an established hospitality landmark in this city of 320,000 residents. The property has 224 rooms and suites, eleven meeting and event spaces totalling more than 1,000 sqm, and a 350 sqm rooftop spa and fitness area. It also has two restaurants and an integrated bar-lounge.
On the parking side, the hotel offers 193 spaces split between outdoor and underground parking. Its location, close to Lake Aasee and its leisure area, together with access via the B54 motorway and several public transport lines, make it a well-integrated asset within its urban setting.
A full renovation to bring the hotel up to Mövenpick standards
The property, previously operated by Revo Hospitality, will undergo a full renovation aimed at enhancing the guest experience while bringing it into line with current Mövenpick brand standards. The transaction was structured and negotiated from start to finish by Odyssey Hotel Group‘s Development & Asset Management team, from acquisition through to deal completion.

Jules van Gaalen, SVP Development & Asset Management at Odyssey Hotel Group, said the agreement extends the group’s sustained growth strategy for Germany and Europe as a whole. He noted that this is the group’s first property in Münster, demonstrating its ability to deliver consistent operational excellence in both major cities and smaller regional markets. He added that the team intends to build value in the hotel and its location by drawing on the group’s proprietary digital tools, strengthening transparency, efficiency and the guest experience.
A structured pan-European growth trajectory
Founded in the Netherlands in 2012, Odyssey Hotel Group operates a portfolio of 30 hotels across six countries (Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden and Finland), alongside a pipeline of 24 new projects. The group draws on deep hospitality market knowledge and its connections with the European real estate sector to position itself as an independent, multi-brand operator for institutional owners.
Since December 2020, pan-European private equity fund ActivumSG — which had already driven the group’s entry into the Berlin market via a partnership with Aroundtown — has held a majority stake in Odyssey Hotel Group and is now its sole shareholder. The group employs more than 1,900 people across its various markets.
