Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of the Radisson RED Sydney Haymarket, a new-build, 328-room lifestyle hotel due to open in 2029. It will be the first Radisson RED property in Australia, marking a milestone in the group’s development across the Asia-Pacific region.

A strategic location in Haymarket

The 31-storey tower will be built at the southern edge of Sydney’s central business district, in the Haymarket precinct. The site sits 200 metres from Central Station and 6.3 kilometres from Sydney Airport, offering direct connectivity to the rest of the city.

The location also benefits from its immediate proximity to the Haymarket light rail stop, Chinatown, Darling Harbour, the international convention centre, several universities and the emerging Tech Central innovation precinct. The building will overlook the Grand Clock Tower, a heritage feature of the district, and will command strong visibility over the surrounding residential and commercial areas.

An upmarket lifestyle positioning

Designed as an upper-upscale hotel, the Radisson RED Sydney Haymarket will feature 328 rooms, a restaurant, a lobby café-bar, a pool bar, 218 sqm of meeting space, an outdoor pool and a fitness centre. The property will also include a lounge dedicated to early arrivals and late departures, designed with both international and domestic business travellers in mind.

Radisson RED is the group’s lifestyle brand, designed for guests drawn to bold design, social spaces, music and art. The brand combines relaxed service, flexible spaces and a strong sense of local identity.

He highlighted the site’s position at the gateway to the CBD, close to Central Station and Tech Central, which he described as a strong opportunity for a new lifestyle hotel.

Radisson RED continues its Asia-Pacific expansion

The signing builds on the development of Radisson RED across Oceania, where the group is also preparing to open Radisson RED Auckland and the Radisson RED Hotel Queenstown, due in 2028. The brand is also continuing its growth in Asia, with recent openings in Bangkok, as well as in Oslo, London, Rome and Dubai.

Radisson Hotel Group continues to pursue a targeted mix of lifestyle, upper-upscale, resort and conversion projects across key urban and leisure destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
