Dazzler Select reaches 14 operating hotels
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts announced on 27 October 2026 that its Dazzler Select by Wyndham brand has surpassed a dozen open properties, with 14 hotels now operating across the United States.
Launched a year earlier, this extension of Dazzler by Wyndham primarily targets independent hotel owners operating in the accessible lifestyle segment.
Its growth is based on the affiliation of existing properties whose owners want to benefit from the distribution, loyalty and marketing capabilities of an international hotel group without sacrificing their individual identity.
The model particularly targets hotels that already have a distinctive positioning and a customer base connected to their destination.
A franchise model built around a flat monthly fee
One of the defining characteristics of Dazzler Select is its commercial structure.
Unlike franchise models based primarily on fees calculated as a percentage of revenue, Wyndham emphasises a flat monthly brand fee.
This arrangement is accompanied by streamlined brand standards and conversion costs described as limited.
The objective is to reduce the financial and operational constraints associated with joining a hotel network.
For David Wilner, Chief Development Officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, independent owners should not have to choose between preserving their property’s identity and gaining access to the commercial resources of a major hotel group.
Dazzler Select is designed to address precisely this challenge by facilitating access to new customers and strengthening direct bookings.
However, the announcement does not disclose the amount of the monthly fee, any additional contractual charges or the average conversion cost.
These factors remain essential to assessing the model’s actual economic advantages.
Independent properties with varied positioning
The Dazzler Select portfolio includes properties in several American tourism destinations.
The first hotel to join the brand was Magic Moment Resort & Kids Club in Kissimmee, Florida.
Several other properties have since joined the network, including:
- Majestic Canyon Lodge in Williams, Arizona, on Route 66 near the Grand Canyon;
- Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort in Washington State, specialising in wellness and mineral waters;
- Casey Key Resorts Mainland in Osprey, Florida, near Sarasota;
- Moab Big Horn Lodge in Moab, Utah, near Arches National Park;
- Golden Gables Inn in North Conway, New Hampshire;
- Kings House Motor Hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona.
These properties have different characteristics, ranging from historic motels to leisure hotels and accommodation specialising in nature-based tourism.
What they share is the preservation of an individual identity associated with their destination and the experience they offer.
Streamlined standards while maintaining quality requirements
The Dazzler Select approach does not mean an absence of standards.
Wyndham specifies, in particular, that affiliated properties must maintain a guest rating of at least 4.0.
The brand also requires certain shared services, including complimentary Wi-Fi for Wyndham Rewards members, coffee and water stations accessible 24 hours a day, and a complimentary breakfast item for every guest.
The objective is to ensure a minimum level of consistency in the guest experience while allowing properties room for differentiation.
This approach enables the group to incorporate hotels whose architecture, facilities and positioning do not necessarily conform to the traditional standards of a uniform hotel brand.
Distribution, loyalty and artificial intelligence supporting franchisees
Affiliation with Dazzler Select provides access to the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts commercial ecosystem.
This includes the group’s sales, marketing, revenue management and operational support tools.
Owners also gain access to the Wyndham Rewards loyalty programme, which has approximately 129 million enrolled members, according to figures included in the announcement.
On the technology side, Wyndham highlights two solutions.
Wyndham Connect is an AI-powered guest engagement platform offered to franchisees at no additional cost.
Wyndham AI Concierge, available as an optional paid service, uses conversational voice and messaging capabilities to answer travellers’ questions, provide recommendations and handle certain booking enquiries.
These tools are intended, in particular, to reduce repetitive tasks for hotel teams and encourage direct commercial interactions.
For independent owners, access to such technologies is one of the arguments in favour of affiliation, at a time when digital investment can represent a significant expense for an individual property.
Wyndham continues to expand its offering for independent hotel owners
With approximately 8,500 hotels across around 100 countries, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts ranks among the major international hotel franchisors.
Its portfolio comprises 25 brands and more than 877,000 franchised or affiliated rooms, according to figures released by the group.
Historically well established in the economy and midscale segments, Wyndham continues to diversify its offering through brands designed to meet different guest requirements and owner profiles.
Dazzler Select forms part of this strategy, targeting independent properties seeking to improve their commercial visibility without adopting a particularly demanding conversion model.
At this stage, the group has not announced a numerical target for new Dazzler Select openings in 2027.
LTH Analysis | An economic alternative for independent hotels?
The development of Dazzler Select illustrates an evolution in the affiliation models available to independent hotel owners.
Wyndham’s proposition is based on a compromise: preserving each property’s commercial individuality while providing access to the distribution, loyalty and management tools of an international hotel group.
The use of a flat monthly brand fee represents a notable point of differentiation, particularly for owners seeking greater predictability in their contractual expenses.
However, this arrangement cannot automatically be considered more advantageous than a traditional franchise without knowing the fee amount, ancillary charges and investment obligations.
Another key consideration is the group’s ability to generate additional bookings at a competitive distribution cost.
For independent hoteliers, the financial value of affiliation will depend, in particular, on revenue growth, the contribution of direct channels, customer acquisition costs and expenses arising from the agreement.
With 14 hotels opened in one year, Dazzler Select has demonstrated an initial ability to attract properties to the network. The next stage will be to assess the model’s commercial performance and its capacity to scale.
In an environment characterised by competition from booking platforms and increasing technology requirements, this model could provide an additional option for certain independent owners.
