Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the Wyndham Frankfurt Niederrad, a 4-star, 146-room property marking the arrival of the group’s namesake brand in the city of Frankfurt. The hotel is operated by Windmill Niederrad GmbH, Wyndham’s new franchise partner in the DACH region.

A First for the Wyndham Brand in Frankfurt

Located in the Lyoner Quartier, south of the Main river, the Wyndham Frankfurt Niederrad occupies a six-storey building. The property offers 146 rooms across Queen and King configurations, including suites and one accessible room. A large central atrium, featuring a suspended lighting installation, serves as the hotel’s visual centrepiece from arrival.

A renovation is planned over the next 18 months to strengthen the offering for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel already features a restaurant serving local cuisine, a bar, an outdoor terrace, three meeting rooms — including a 159 sq m event space — and a fitness area.

A New Franchise Partnership in the DACH Region

The opening seals a new collaboration between Wyndham and Windmill Niederrad GmbH. According to Raj Reddy, Managing Director of Windmill Niederrad GmbH, the brand’s international recognition and the hotel’s strategic location, close to both the airport and the city centre, make it an attractive proposition for a mixed business and leisure clientele.

For Dimitris Manikis, EMEA President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Frankfurt is among the most dynamic destinations in Germany, attracting both international business travellers and leisure guests alike. He notes that this opening reflects the group’s broader strategy of expanding its upscale portfolio in Europe through quality properties in key destinations.

Frankfurt, a Stronghold of German Business Tourism

The city recorded more than 15.5 million arrivals and generated 34.3 million overnight stays in 2025. It is home to Messe Frankfurt, one of the world’s largest trade fair organisers, and boasts a skyline that has earned it the nickname “Mainhattan”. The hotel is located approximately 8 kilometres from both Frankfurt Airport and the city centre, close to Deutsche Bank Park and the headquarters of the German Football Association.

Strengthening Wyndham’s European Portfolio

The Wyndham brand and its related sub-brands, Wyndham Grand and Wyndham Garden, now count more than 60 hotels across 16 countries in Europe. This development continues the group’s European growth strategy, following notably the acquisition of the Vienna House brand. Globally, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts reports around 8,400 hotels across roughly a hundred countries, a network the group has continued to expand across several markets in recent periods, as confirmed by its latest financial results.
