From a global agreement to a guest experience

On 2 July 2026, Marriott International and The Coca-Cola Company announced a global agreement making Coca-Cola Marriott’s beverage partner.

Developed with Hot Shoppe Services International, Marriott’s global procurement organisation, the agreement provided for the gradual introduction of Coca-Cola’s various beverage categories across guestrooms, restaurants, bars and event spaces throughout the hotel portfolio.

As La Tribune de l’Hôtellerie reported at the time, the partnership was also intended to help generate value for the group’s hotel owners and franchise operators.

Four months later, the collaboration is taking on a different dimension.

For the 2026 Christmas season, six Gaylord Hotels resorts and two JW Marriott resorts will introduce an initiative combining Coca-Cola-themed suites, festive entertainment and visits from the brand’s iconic red Christmas truck.

The initiative goes beyond distributing a commercial partner’s products, incorporating its brand identity directly into the guest experience.

Co-branding extends into the guestrooms

A central element of the initiative is the introduction of Coca-Cola Christmas Suites, available in limited numbers across the eight participating resorts.

These accommodations will feature immersive decorations inspired by Coca-Cola’s Christmas imagery, branded products, seasonal touches and four tickets to ICE!, the ice sculpture attraction developed by Gaylord Hotels.

Alongside the themed suites, the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan will tour the participating properties between 5 November and 31 December 2026.

Visitors will be able to take part in various activities, photography sessions and product or souvenir giveaways.

The initiative adds to an established Christmas programme built around ICE!, the attraction launched in 2001, and the participating resorts’ existing seasonal offerings.

LTH Analysis | From supplier agreements to enhancing the guest experience

The strategic significance of this initiative lies in the evolution of the relationship between the two groups.

The global agreement signed in July was primarily based on a commercial and procurement model, addressing distribution, supplier selection and economic efficiency across Marriott properties.

The Christmas initiative follows a different approach: experiential co-branding.

Coca-Cola is no longer simply supplying products. Its brand becomes a visible component of the hospitality offering, extending to the design of themed accommodation.

For Marriott, this approach could help differentiate its resorts, enhance accommodation packages and develop revenue streams associated with seasonal experiences.

For Coca-Cola, it extends the brand’s presence into a leisure and hospitality environment where visitors interact directly with its identity and imagery.

The collaboration therefore illustrates an evolution in hospitality partnerships: from a supplier-distributor relationship towards a brand association capable of creating marketable guest experiences.

The financial terms of the initiative and its anticipated impact on property revenues have not been disclosed.
